Farmer’s Market at Mockingbird Station

Posted on Thursday, April 23, 2009 in green, local, news and updates, photography

How we spent Earth Day:

Local radishes at the Mockingbird Station Farmer's Market Honey at Mockingbird Station Farmer's Market

Locally-grown veg at the Mockingbird Station Farmer's Market Family learning about bees at Mockingbird Station Farmer's Market Beekeepers at the Mockingbird Station Farmer's Market

After the farmers’ market at Mockingbird Station, we went to the library and ate dinner at the Spiral Diner, a vegan cafe. It was so great to have so many menu options, and also to not have to worry about what’s being used to prepare food. I also did a series of posts over on DIY Gems on how to make your life a little greener, along with crafts, tips and tutorials.

All in all, a great day!

Kaede writes a monthly column in the Japanese creative magazine “Brain” and this month’s column is all about ARGs! I and a few other players (@jasper_su, @cubicgarden, Roberta Romero and @redbanshee) were contacted about using our photos, and they sent me a copy in return. My photos appear on the second page of the article (the third photo linked above.)

It’s really exciting to see my stuff in print! I love it when people contact me through Flickr to use my photos for projects like this. I’ve got another photo that will be in an upcoming insert in the Guardian, about summer sports, and that was all arranged through Flickr as well.
